On dw: Second edition; on verso of title page: Second impression.Text clean and unmarked, binding tight. Past owner’s neat stamp on both front endpapes. Small nick at bottom of front board and prelims. DW has browned spine and tears top and bottom with pieces missing at edges of spine.

Covers period 1938-1955.Text clean and binding firm. A plate and pages 47-50 are creased at fore edge. Boards frayed at corners and ends of spine. Lettering on spine faded.

No date of publication, circa 1948. Clean text and firm binding, ink inscription on half-title page. Corners of boards and edges of spine frayed. DW badly torn with piece of upper back panel missing.

Clean whole condition except for small stain on front cover and address label fixed to front fep with adhesive tape.

Signed by Alice Mertens (photographer) on title page. Lower edges of spine and lower corners slightly rounded. DW slightly scuffed, and soiled on back.

Scratched out stamp on front fep. Handwritten letters on title page above title, in black ink. Cracks to top of spine. Very faded letters at base of spine. Overall, a clean whole copy.

No. 910 in a limited edition of 1500 copies. Past owner’s name in ink on front endpaper. Mild foxing to fore edges of pages and small stain on edges of last few pages. DW is chipped at top of spine and worn along hinges.

Text clean and binding tight. Covers a trifle edge worn. DW chipped at top and bottom with small tears and a tiny piece missing at lower edge of back panel.
