Peter and Wendy

Verso of title page reads: “First, second, third and fourth editions printed October, 1911. Some minor foxing throughout. Two of the illustrated pages have 1cm tears to their edges. They appear to have come loose and to have been tipped in again at some stage. The unique feature about this volume is that it has been signed by the cast of the 1912 production of the famous paly at the Duke of York’s Theatre in London. It is signed by the following cast members: Pauline Chase - Peter Pan, E Holman Clark - Captain Hook, George Sheldon - Smee, Margaret Fraser - Tiger Lily, Gertrude - Wendy. Pauline Chase was Barrie’s choice for the title role and played it from 1906 to 1914. Gilt on green cloth boards is particularly bright.
