Morton’s Handbook of the Farm Series; no. 5. Past owner’s name in ink on title page and name stamp on a few internal pages. Slight foxing at front and end of text and on fore edges of pages. Edges of boards worn, corners bumped and spine faded. Front endpapers torn at hinge and binding a little loose.
Text by Compton Herbarium, National Botanic Gardens of South Africa, Kirstenbosch, Cape Town. No date; probably 1970s. Full colour illustrations throughout accompanied by captions in English, Afrikaans, French and German. Odd spots and marks in text, slight rubbing and creasing to covers.
Foreword by Prof H.B Rycorft, Director of the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Text in English and Afrikaans. Illustrations by Mary Maytham Kidd. Light soiling to covers and a few loose threads.
Limp covers in firm condition displaying wear and staining, with an inscription to J.H. De Villiers, first Chief Justice of South Africa, inscribed by the author on the top edge. Booklet has been folded down the middle. Off-print from the ‘Official Handbook of the Cape of Good Hope’

Preface date 1909. On cover: Presented by Lennon Limited 1931. In remarkably good condition with only small neat owner’s name in ink on front cover.
